These Truths I Hold part 2

These truths I hold to be self-evident, in no particular order: Part 2:

30.  DOMA-- the Defense of Marriage Act-- was ruled as unconstitutional today by the Supreme Court.
31.  I haven't had any evidence so far of a stampede of people rushing to marry their pet horses or their favorite zoo giraffes.
32.  "If there were only gay people in the world, that would be the end of civilization" is not a true statement.  Some of us do it with volunteer donors or with turkey basters.  Yes, people who are not straight can and do have kids.
33.  Kids growing up in households where the parents are not straight do not have an increased percentage of "turning out gay" than kids growing up in households where one or both parents are straight.
34.  Religious straight people do not hold the monopoly on morality.  Religious people do not hold the monopoly on morality.  Straight people do not hold the monopoly on morality.
35.  Most pedophiles are in fact straight.
36.  I don't care for NAMBLA either.  I think civil commitment for life is a great idea for people who have been convicted of sex crimes with children. 
37.  The Supreme Court justices are there to interpret the secular law as it exists; not to tread on the toes of anyone's Almighty.
38.  I think the Government should get out of the marriage business altogether.  If two people get hooked by a religious clergy, that is marriage.  If they get hooked by a justice of the peace or a judge, that is a civil union.  Both should have the same rights, privileges, and responsibilities.  Papers that ask about marital status can ask, "Are you in a legally recognized household partnership?" instead.  Or: Single, Together, Divorced, Widowed.
39.  Civil rights for all civils. 

40.  Trolls are defenders of freedom of speech.
41.  Trolls ask the questions that everyone else is too polite to ask.
42.  Trolls with mad skillz are witty and endearing.
43.  Trolls are necessary to life.
44.  An internet without trolls would be a lifeless, dull thing.
45.  The trolls have trolled us by writing all that mean stuff on the internet about trolls.
46.  A wonderful troll forum gave us Anonymous.
47.  Whether you suck or not, you are bound to get trolled sometime.
48.  Trolls do it for the lulz.
49.  Troll the Government.

I'm So Sick Of

That was the Twitter "trend" last night that piqued my interest.  Except on Twitter it looked like this:

          #ImSoSickOf

and so it began.  First I tweeted [that's a word which means "typed in 140 characters or less" or sometimes "microblogged"] that:

          #ImSoSickOf Twitter Trends.

 Then I thought some more and tweeted a whole bunch more stuff.  They all start off with #ImSoSickOf:


     not fitting in.

   people fighting on Twitter. And then picking others to group-block until they get banned. Not just the Christians doing it.

   all of us fighting instead of finding some common ground to talk about. We can do better than this.

   the U.N. trying to run the Internet. Agenda 21. Illegal immigrants. the Gun Wars. Let's enforce the laws we have b4 making more.

   not being able to translate my talents into work that I love.

   people who assume that they know me.

   injustice. The women of the First Nation deserve to have the crimes committed against them fully investigated.  #Rape is never ok.

   watching people continue to promote abusive behavioral mod programs and send their kids or someone else's kids to them. #FAIL.

   people justifying the evil that they do.

   people demanding that I be grateful for the crumbs. I'm baking my own loaf of bread. Ain't no stopping me now.

   professionals believing that they know what's best for me as if I don't.  Look, if you don't want to help me, get outta my way.

   people demanding that we all fit into nifty little political molds. I don't. I suspect most aware people don't. So go away.

   having to deal with a society that is content to let their privacy be snatched away. Privacy is necessary for true security.

   living in fear whenever I exercise my first amendment rights. The terrorists of 9/11 have won. Our rights [are] going #DownTheTubes.

   religious people assuming that without any gods, morals and conscience do not exist.

   people who judge my #AnonFamily.  We are all humans trying to live on this planet without blowing each other up. I <3 b="" you="">#anon

   winter. Waiting for spring so I can travel.

   everyone calling each other names. Liberals, Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Christians, Muslims, Atheists, etc. Stop it.

   bullies, drama queens, snotty neighbors, snitches, informants, spies, and drones.


There was one more trend that I tweeted for:

          #ThingsSarahPalinHasNeverDone offer to sleep with my dad who I am quite sure would say yes.

Then I went back to #ImSoSickOf:

   Twitter asking me to import my contacts from my e-mail.  That's a big fat NO @twitter.  READ ME NOW?  #JustSaying.

   exclusionary tactics.

   what the politicians are doing in their belief that we need protection from our selves.

   trolls with no skillz.

   calling tech support and finding out that I know more than they do. So like, I quit calling. And I don't even know enough yet.

   people going to jail for civil disobedience getting more jail time than rapists and human traffickers and homocidists[sic].   #FAIL.

  people who don't understand the first thing about #Anonymous bashing my #AnonFamily.

   the woo-woo.

   people who try to take over public space with their private sentiments.

   people on all sides blocking each other.  @twitter, how about NOT using how many times someone gets blocked as suspension?

   the insanity.

   Because #ImSoSickOf the politicians giving it to us, I support #Anonymous.  Because #ImSoSickOf business as usual, I'm changing how I live.

   these meaningless trends-- who is jennette and why should we love her, what is snl, oomf, turnup, eureka7, symbiotic titan???

   the BS & lies that politicians on all sides tell us. I don't need platitudes. Anything worth having is worth working for.

   people trying to dictate to me what I should believe, think, or how I should behave. Civil rights for all civils.

   the hate.

I recorded all of this here as stuff I may write more about sometime.  Or maybe not.  Last night I also had a bit of a melt-down over a wi-fi problem that I wrestled with for an hour and a half.  But I did get it fixed.  And as a bonus, I found a security flaw in my system.  Or rather, found a security flaw in my system that I actually recognized as being a security flaw.  I fixed it.

A DAY IN LIFE by Mare

I wrote this as if I was our daughter..and I just wanted to share. Spike feel feel to use if you would like. ~Mare

She wakes up to get ready for school like everyone else her ages does. She takes a shower, pets her cat, eats breakfast and gets ready for her day, just like everyone else does. She begins her day reading a book, and tells herself she is going to have a good day.
Her parents get up get ready to take her to school. She is a good teen-ager she stays out of trouble she is a only child so figuring things out comes first hand for her, almost like the oldest child. Her parents drop her off at school and hold up traffic tell her to have a good day and watch her all the way to the door to make sure she makes it in the school, as most parents just drop off their child and drive away as the day is too busy for them.
The day goes on and noone wants to partner with her she is called a "Lesbian" knowing she isn't they are just calling her that because her parents are. She pretends it doesn't bother her and the next class comes around and it happens again..Her mind shuts down and the emotions begin to fill and the feeling is too much. She begins to cry and then gets upset with herself because they are only words and she knows her parents love her and their parents are probably never around to tell the difference in their day, but "I can only take so much" her mind explodes with emotion and what started off as telling herself "I am going to have a good day" begins the day from hell.
She comes home from school and her parents know the look on her face there is something wrong and she doesn't want to appear weak or that she is ashamed of them, she doesn't talk about and her parents keep at her because they know and they care. She tells them ever so quietly and like it was no big deal. Her parents know better they know just what to ask and just what to say. Her parents walk her through some scenario to help her along for the next time around.
Her parents worry that the words will lead to attacks which will lead to other things all because two people love one another and have raised a child into this world. Children can be mean no matter if you come from a poor family, rich family, two moms, two dads, have glasses, or braces. Not that it makes it right but there needs to be something that can rest her parents from worrying, and her from having to go through the harassment.
They talk and hug and have dinner. They may go for a walk or watch a movie, She feels better when she is at home and hates when she has to get ready for bed for the new day is about to begin again and telling herself she is going to have a good day. ~Mare
