I'm So Sick Of

That was the Twitter "trend" last night that piqued my interest.  Except on Twitter it looked like this:

          #ImSoSickOf

and so it began.  First I tweeted [that's a word which means "typed in 140 characters or less" or sometimes "microblogged"] that:

          #ImSoSickOf Twitter Trends.

Then I thought some more and tweeted a whole bunch more stuff.  They all start off with #ImSoSickOf:

     not fitting in.

people fighting on Twitter. And then picking others to group-block until they get banned. Not just the Christians doing it.

all of us fighting instead of finding some common ground to talk about. We can do better than this.

the U.N. trying to run the Internet. Agenda 21. Illegal immigrants. the Gun Wars. Let's enforce the laws we have b4 making more.

not being able to translate my talents into work that I love.

people who assume that they know me.

injustice. The women of the First Nation deserve to have the crimes committed against them fully investigated.  #Rape is never ok.

watching people continue to promote abusive behavioral mod programs and send their kids or someone else's kids to them. #FAIL.

people justifying the evil that they do.

people demanding that I be grateful for the crumbs. I'm baking my own loaf of bread. Ain't no stopping me now.

professionals believing that they know what's best for me as if I don't.  Look, if you don't want to help me, get outta my way.

people demanding that we all fit into nifty little political molds. I don't. I suspect most aware people don't. So go away.

having to deal with a society that is content to let their privacy be snatched away. Privacy is necessary for true security.

living in fear whenever I exercise my first amendment rights. The terrorists of 9/11 have won. Our rights [are] going #DownTheTubes.

religious people assuming that without any gods, morals and conscience do not exist.

people who judge my #AnonFamily.  We are all humans trying to live on this planet without blowing each other up. I <3 b="" you="">#anon
.
winter. Waiting for spring so I can travel.

everyone calling each other names. Liberals, Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Christians, Muslims, Atheists, etc. Stop it.

bullies, drama queens, snotty neighbors, snitches, informants, spies, and drones.

There was one more trend that I tweeted for:

#ThingsSarahPalinHasNeverDone offer to sleep with my dad who I am quite sure would say yes.

Then I went back to #ImSoSickOf:

Twitter asking me to import my contacts from my e-mail.  That's a big fat NO @twitter.  READ ME NOW?  #JustSaying.

   exclusionary tactics.

what the politicians are doing in their belief that we need protection from our selves.

   trolls with no skillz.

calling tech support and finding out that I know more than they do. So like, I quit calling. And I don't even know enough yet.

people going to jail for civil disobedience getting more jail time than rapists and human traffickers and homocidists[sic].   #FAIL.

people who don't understand the first thing about #Anonymous bashing my #AnonFamily.

   the woo-woo.

people who try to take over public space with their private sentiments.

people on all sides blocking each other.  @twitter, how about NOT using how many times someone gets blocked as suspension?

   the insanity.

Because #ImSoSickOf the politicians giving it to us, I support #Anonymous.  Because #ImSoSickOf business as usual, I'm changing how I live.

these meaningless trends-- who is jennette and why should we love her, what is snl, oomf, turnup, eureka7, symbiotic titan???

the BS & lies that politicians on all sides tell us. I don't need platitudes. Anything worth having is worth working for.

people trying to dictate to me what I should believe, think, or how I should behave. Civil rights for all civils.

   the hate.

I recorded all of this here as stuff I may write more about sometime.  Or maybe not.  Last night I also had a bit of a melt-down over a wi-fi problem that I wrestled with for an hour and a half.  But I did get it fixed.  And as a bonus, I found a security flaw in my system.  Or rather, found a security flaw in my system that I actually recognized as being a security flaw.  I fixed it.

On Politics and Swear Words

After reading Steve Michael's three latest rants and Jeremy Crow's Volume 24 here at the Itching for a Coffee blog, I found that I could not resist adding my own thoughts such as they are. In googling the words "a$$ fu3k," I found that there is indeed an internet cafe by that name which in fact does not have to do with political acts. The suggestion that parents can send their college-age kids to D.C. if they "want to be a$$ fu3ks" struck me as hysterical.

I prefer the word asswipe which is more versatile. It has 41 definitions in the Urban Dictionary. Some of those definitions actually reference the political. A Google search also yields a couple of vids, a site that has funny pictures and games on it, a forum insulting owners of a car, and references to a bad contractor in Toronto.

I myself have no inherent love for politicians as a whole nor of crooked ones specifically. Those of us who have gone to college or sought higher edumacation have to exert some effort if we are to aspire to greatness or even to employment. My dad instilled in me a hefty dose of Protestant work ethic. (In my own patchwork of careers I have certainly suffered from a lack of willingness many times to put to use the values he taught me about work but that is simply and utterly not his fault). As I matured I learned the truth of the saying attributed to Albert Einstein: "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." I shortened this axiom to "If I want something different, I have to do something different."

When I found that the journey to excellence, achievement, and promotions in my chosen field involved perseverance and hard work, I had to engage in battling my native laziness and inertia if I wanted to get anywhere. After my motor vehicle accident about six years ago and traumatic brain injury which profoundly altered the course of my life, once again I had to really apply myself in order to learn how to compensate for my neurological difficulties. Whining about how my bosses had better connections didn't help me get promotions. Remaining embittered about my current state of affairs hindered me from being able to make any lasting changes to my life and circumstance. And so, my dad's hard-driving work ethic continues to inform me about what it takes for me to achieve my goals even today when the cognitive fatigue prevents me from being able to work. I can sit and whine about how "everyone else" has it better, has it going on, was able to access the services that I cannot access. Or I can continue to strive to be the best spike I can be and never mind who has it better, has it going on, was able to get more help, or never got disabled in the first place.

The concerns that both of my co-team members here at Itching have expressed in regard to the R-word being hurled at anyone who dares criticizes the President I believe are justified. That anyone should have to qualify any criticism of the person or policies or actions of Obama with, "Hey I am not a racist. I have friends who are black. I don't hate blacks..." informs me that this pressure-- this willingness of some segments of society to judge others as being racist because of political views-- is very much a real presence. And yeah, that some of the world's worst are embracing Obama and congratulating him is downright scary.

I have a traumatic brain injury. I curse fluently. I always have cursed fluently. The thing is, that since my injury, I am more likely to curse openly and publicly at times and places where others would rather I did not. With some difficulty, I am able to hold back on the cursing somewhat so that my message is not lost in the flood of colorful language. I may not agree that cursing or appearance should "matter" to those who are listening to me, reading my stuff, trying to help me with my vocational or medical problems. The reality is that it does matter to the more genteel folks around me. And so I endeavor to inhibit my dis-inhibitions for the sake of getting my voice heard.

In this day and age of renewed interest in "protecting the children" it is almost risky to curse in a blog. As some of us learned on Yahoo 360 (may that stinking corpse rot forever), censorship is not something that is applied equally in all circumstances. Criticizing the corporation became inherently more dangerous than putting a picture of a penis on one's profile was. Crow got kicked from 360. Unfortunately my writing was not talented enough to enjoy that distinction. Perhaps someday. Meanwhile, there is Blogspot. The folks at Google don't seem to be as hung up about these things. Yet, I ask myself how many curse words and which ones will get the blog Itching for a Coffee put on restricted status. I don't want this blog to be forced into "by invitation only" because quite frankly we don't have enough readers to remain a viable outreach if that were to happen. So then do I censor my buddy Steven by asking him to "tone it down" or at the very least "not to say the c-word and to limit the cursing" to some arbitrary number per paragraph? Do I dash a panicked e-mail off to Crow asking him for his input? Or do I just allow the chips to fall where they may? Or something else entirely?

Up through my twenties, I did not engage in a whole lot of intercourse because quite frankly I figured that if I got pregnant before marriage my father would "kill" me. I will point out here that I was mostly self-supporting in my twenties and living away from home. Yes, computers and the internet are all over the place. True no one can watch their under-aged kids "all the time." These two realities do not divorce from parents their responsibility to monitor the activities of their children. Parents, tend to your children. It is a dangerous world. Folks curse on blogs. Predators lay waiting in chat rooms. Kids can be exposed to ideas and values different from your own. My dad never told me "Don't get pregnant before you are married or else." Because his values were conveyed to me, my actions reflected those values even when he wasn't watching. Surely you parents of today are able to deliver clear messages about what is acceptable behavior in your offspring to your offspring. And just maybe, if you do so, your kids as adults won't choose to be asswipes living in D.C. or elsewhere whining about how they got left out of the lucky lottery-- or worse-- running for public office.

Bush and getting Bushed

Most people aren't all idiot or all genius but a mixed up blend.
Bush is no exception.
imo, given the "choices" we had last time, Bush had the most
leadership ability out of all of them.
Quite frankly,
and I may not be rational in this but this was my belief when Carter
was around and still is,
when those Iranian student terrorists took over the American Embassy
27 years or so ago, we shoulda bombed that entire damn country
and cut our losses.
I feel bad for the hostages as I am not inhuman.
But the fact is, we cannot negotiate with terrorists.
The nine hostages would have had a nice monument somewheres
built for them
and perhaps 9/11 would have been delayed or not happened at all.
As it was, the Ayatollah Khomeni went around laughing his ass off
about the USA being impotent and unable to act decisively.
Consequently, we became opportunistic fodder for anyone with a
bomb or a gun.
Bush's mistake was in not nuking the whole entire area.
The war has dragged on entirely too long and if it was
a clean in and out sweep, things might have been better.
So we still have a rep of not being able to act decisively.
Four ppl were arrested last Saturday at JFK airport.
Reason: that airport was a target. Had they not been
arrested...
Meanwhile, Bush has gone soft on the illegal alien issue and
I'm pissed at him for that. Newt Gingrigh however you spell
his name got on the airwaves and read the Mexican law
concerning what happens to United Statians who try that
border trick in reverse. The mediacs, not realizing what he
was reading from, were quick with their accusations. Newt
didn't write the Mexican law. He was just reading it.
I am not a fan of Newt most of the time and I am not a
christian dominionist and in fact not a christian.
However, Newt did nothing rascist by reading from the law
of another country. Furthermore, some of the illegals when
they had their usa-wide protests back in May, had a sign
that read "Read your history. This IS our country." So
now Texas and parts of Arizona are to become part of Mexico
as they wish, not officially but in another way.
I do not agree with some of the things Bush has done and I do
not share the same christian values that he has. However,
I would have respected him far more if he hadn't backed down
regarding illegal aliens, period.
Bush is far from an idiot. His college transcripts bear witness to that.
And Hill the Pill-- sorry. I live in New York. I have no love for her.
She is phony. How do I know this? I've listened to her talk about
the hot-button feel-good issues and I think she should go live in
Massachusetts with Martha's crew. At least that would get her the
hell out of my state.
Guiliani in 2008.
Respectfully and with love even though I am a political hothead,

ps One of the things that I really like about the team blog "Itching for a coffee"
is that we do not all agree. The exposure to different viewpoints as well
as differing life circumstances and different spiritual or religious paths
is a great thing.
Friendship extends far beyond any ideological boundaries.
Meanwhile, I am involved in the Live Journal clusterfuck. Getting rid of
pedos is a good thing. Getting rid of folks at random who had "incest"
listed in their interests [because they are survivors or in one case a
sociology student] is moronic and then for some Whackkkos 4 Installationofspyware
group to publish the user names of all of the suspendeds and labeling them
pedos when in fact most of them were not is a truly bad thing.
To compound their sins, Live Journal's idiot make fake apologies and the
team then brought back a few of the pedos [without thorough investigation first]
and left some of the survivors still suspended.
Contacting their abuse team in the past about harassment or any other matter
led to a polite form letter, "We can do nothing." Yet some whacKKKos show
up threatening to boycott the advertisers and boom goes the hatchett.
Writing fanfic which involves sexual activity is not the same as seeking out
kids under the age of consent.
The community which discussed the classic book Lolita in Spanish was one of
ones suspended. It was brought back.
Years ago, Live Journal bloggers were aware of a pedo on live journal and they
got the word out via reporting on the news articles about his arrests plural and
the situation. The abuse team suspended the reporters and left the pedo to
do as he will.
Back to my corner now.

And the next Prez is.....?

Merry meet. Ok, I know it is not even close to election day, and we still have primaries to go through. but who the heck do we go for? Edwards? LOL! No! He was a good contender, until I heard he wants to give his neighbor the boot, cuz him, and his wife doesn't like his yard. What a kick huh? He don't have my vote.

And now let's look at Oboma. Oboma who? I never heard of this guy until now. And do you think this country is gonna vote for him? Hello! He's a foreigner. I'd vote for him, if I knew who the heck he was. But this country is not gonna vote him in. This country can't even tell the difference between Iraq, and Afghanistan! Most people probably think he's a terrorist.

And then we have Hillary. Dear sweet, emotionless Hillary. He doesn't care what she has to do to get votes, she'll do it. And she does not understand a thing. I'm not sorry for saying this, but she let Bill make her look like a dumb shit. And another thing, I don't think she has the brains to run a country. She is not the right woman to be the first woman prez.

And now Sen. John McCain. He is the one I'd vote for, only because the other ones are dumber then he is. If no one else steps up, and these are the only ones we get, We're screwed. I gonna write a monkey. Cuz a monkey would be better then any of these people. Whoever wins, is gonna get a war torn country; that needs to get out of Iraq. Just got them out. But, I can say this; The next prez will be better then monkey see, and monkey do.

(Bush, and Cheney)

I leave with these final thoughts. The people we vote for, are not what they seem to be. All the say is what we want to hear. They don't care about us. they only care about what is best for them, and their party. Our job as voters is to decide who is going to screw us over the least. The people in our government are not always to be trusted. More often, we shouldn't even trust them with a pet rock. But these are the people who we choose to run this country. We know they don't do what they say. Well, they do some of them, when it gets close to re-election time. And then we seem to forget how dumb they are. Never forget how these politicians are from pre-election, to re-election. Vote for the ones who will screw us over the least. Blessed be, Elder RavenFire.

Dump the Dubya 3/23/07

I take some modest pride in the knowledge, especially in the wake of the latest Republican-based scandal from Washington (The great US attorney purge) that I have been an inveterate foe of Dubya and all his works almost from the first time that I had heard of him. That, if you are curious was when the media reported, during the candidate debates in 1999, that when asked what political philosopher had had the most influence on him, he answered, “Jesus Christ, because he changed my life.” This response told me three things:

  1. That he was a born again, fundamentalist mental midget,

  2. That he was pandering to his religious base,

  3. That he did not have enough grasp on the subject to tell the difference between a religious figure and a political philosopher, and

  4. That he had never read any political philosophy, and so was supremely unqualified to be president.

In what appears in hindsight to be the utmost in wishful thinking, I assumed then that Dubya had managed to cut his political throat, and that we would never hear of him again past the third or fourth primary. I was wrong. I wish to goodness that I had not been. I underestimated the rising strength of the Religious Right, and the naiveté of the American public. Until 9/11, many people, myself included, believed that he would be a completely ineffective president, a belief that was strengthened by the fact that he appeared to be a “one-issue” politician, and that his mania for “faith-based” programs would continue to be crushed by a Congress that still had some hold on reality. We tend to think of the damage that Mohammed Atta and his gruesome little band did to America in terms of lives lost and buildings destroyed, but that pales in comparison to the fact that they transformed George III (think about it) from a nonentity into possibly the most horrifyingly damaging figure in American history. I remember before the full extent of the disaster became clear that I would say he was the worst president since Warren G. Harding. I now believe that was unfair to President Harding, who was at least aware of his own inadequacies.

I see in the news that the Mayor of Salt Lake City has taken up the cause of impeachment of this president. I fully endorse that position. If President Clinton could be considered for impeachment for lying about his sex life, what are we to make of a President who has entangled us in a foreign war on pretexts that were demonstrated to be false, almost as soon as the war was initiated? A President who has repeatedly used executive power to unconstitutionally pass out funds to religious organizations (Let’s drop the misleading euphemism “faith-based”) against the will of Congress and the American people? A President who has gutted environmental restrictions and subverted scientific findings on global warming in order to accommodate his buddies in the energy business? A President who allowed a government agent to be compromised in order to punish her husband for telling the truth about his corrupt regime? A President who appears to be attempting to make America over as a religious theocracy, and who seized unprecedented power over ordinary Americans by railroading through the Patriot Act? A President who initiates a purge of government attorneys who have placed their duties to America ahead of loyalty to those in power? When is enough enough? How about today?

The only problem I have with impeaching the president is that it does not go far enough to solve our current problem. If we dump Dubya, we are left with his Mephistophelean VP, Dick “Quail Hunter” Cheney. This grey eminence is the Richelieu of this administration, and needs to be included in any impeachment proceedings. Dick has the potential to be an even more disastrous chief executive than Dubya, if only because he is light years more competent and unprincipled.
